FRASER RIVER  Chinook fishing certainly improved this past week with some very impressive catches on a daily bases. There has been fish to 50 pounds with lots in the 20-30 pound range. Water levels jumped up on August 24th due to some heavy rains but this should peak and levels likely will drop again. The water clarity is still decent but it did color up with the flow increase. The bar fisherman are still catching some nice Springs using the large Spin Glo's. For the bottom bouncing crowd, please remember to handle Sockeye with extreme care when releasing these fish. DO NOT bring fish on to the beach. Release them in the water as soon as possible. There is no retention of Sockeye for the remainder of this year.  The retention for Chinook is now 4 fish per day with only one over 50cm until September 1st when the jack size will increase to 62cm. Chum are starting to show, you are allowed 2 per day. Sturgeon fishing has been more challenging this month but there are still some very large fish being caught. Several fish over 8' are being reported each day so you never know when the big one will be caught.    DROP INTO THE SHOP FOR SOME SMOKING DEALS...

CHILLIWACK-VEDDER - The river has never looked so perfect in August as this year. With the rains the river is up and looking ideal. The water levels could not be better and the color is that beautiful emerald green. These conditions provide some great opportunity for everyone to get out on the entire river. There are early Coho showing already and there are Chinook in the system. These early arrivals are in superb shape. Both the Coho are Chinook are chrome bright and full of energy. Chinook retention remains at 4 fish per day with only one over 62cm. Coho retention is 4 Hatchery marked fish per day. Chum is 1 per day.  Please remember that any Sockeye caught must be returned unharmed to the river. REGISTER FOR THIS YEARS COHO DERBY - This year will be the best ever.

CHEHALIS RIVER Limited fishing reports at this time. Coho are just around the corner.

HARRISON RIVER - The Harrison river is a good choice for Cutthroat at this time of year. There are a ton of Sockeye in the system. No retention at this time.

 FRED'S COHO DERBY - Sept 1st - Oct 31st

Over $2000 in prizes - Fred's best ever.

Top five fish, weekly prizes, hidden weights and more...

Lakes- Interior lakes are all fishing great according to all reports this year. Some veteran anglers are saying that this spring has been the best in years. Roche lake has been producing rainbows averaging 5-7 lbs. with many fish in the double digits. Look for sedge hatches this time of year, also try damsel and dragon patterns and don't forget to drag a leech just before dark for the big boys! Get out there and have some fun.

Good Fishing,

Rob Graham
